Excellence through persistence – this is what we celebrated at the John Paul College Speech Night 2020.
This year, our international students’ achievements have been many. Earlier in the year, we congratulated
63 of our international students on achieving Academic Awards. At Speech Night, we saw many of our international students from
China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Vietnam recognised for outstanding achievement and Speech Night Academic Excellence, receiving 13 Academic Honours and the Captain’s Cup, which is presented to the student judged to be the finest all-round cultural person.
We often speak about the extraordinary journey international students embark upon. Many students begin their College story at John Paul International College in
High School Preparation to make sure they have the English language and tools to succeed. Many of our international students live away from home in our
Homestay Program or our Boarding village. In 2020, the journey for our students has been especially challenging to navigate in the face of COVID-19. However, with the support of our teachers and the
International Student Services Centre, our students have continued to show excellence through persistence.
John Paul International College is also proud to see
Nam Nguyen awarded Dux of the College; the highest award for academic excellence bestowed by the College. Nam started his journey at the College in High School Preparation Level 4 before graduating into Year Nine. Congratulations Nam!
