Following a successful visit to São Paulo last year, and with the valued support of Trade and Investment Queensland and Austrade, John Paul College is proud to announce its partnership with the São Paulo Government Scholarship Program—marking a significant milestone in our commitment to global education.
This January, we welcomed our first cohort of talented Brazilian students from São Paulo to our Daisy Hill campus. These young scholars, selected through the prestigious government scholarship program, have embarked on an educational journey that spans more than 15,000 kilometres—and we are honoured to be their home away from home.
Premium Support from the Moment of Arrival
We understand that travelling more than 30 hours is exhausting, particularly for young students experiencing their first major international journey. That's why John Paul College provides a premium arrival experience—private airport pickup is arranged for each student, transporting them directly to their carefully selected homestay families where they can rest, recover, and begin settling into their new Australian life.
Our São Paulo scholars arriving at Brisbane Airport, ready to begin their Australian adventure with the 'Prontos Pro Mundo' program.
Our Premium Homestay Program is central to the JPC international experience. Each host family is thoughtfully matched with students, providing not just accommodation, but genuine cultural immersion, pastoral care, and the warmth of an Australian family environment. This "home away from home" approach ensures students feel supported, connected, and ready to thrive academically and personally.

The JPC Premium Homestay Difference
Unlike standard homestay arrangements, JPC's Premium Homestay Program involves rigorous family selection, ongoing support, and regular check-ins to ensure every student receives exceptional care. Our families don't just provide a room—they become part of each student's educational journey.
Experience Australian Education Firsthand
The first day of school is always memorable, and for our Brazilian students, it began with a comprehensive orientation led by our Head of Year 10. Students were warmly welcomed into the JPC community and introduced to the structures and support systems that would guide their time with us.
Discovering Our World-Class Campus
John Paul College spans more than 36 hectares of purpose-built educational facilities, making it one of the most impressive school campuses in Queensland. During their first week, our Brazilian students explored key areas of this expansive campus—from modern classrooms and specialist learning spaces to sporting facilities and peaceful garden areas.
Of course, with 36 hectares to explore, a single tour can only cover so much. In the weeks ahead, students will continue to discover the full breadth of facilities available to them—including our performing arts centre, aquatic centre, extensive sporting fields, and dedicated international student support spaces.
At John Paul College, we don't just educate students—we welcome them into a community. Our Brazilian scholars are now part of the JPC family, and we are committed to supporting their growth, their dreams, and their success.
Looking Ahead

| This partnership with the São Paulo Government Scholarship Program represents John Paul College's ongoing commitment to international education excellence. With 10 students per term across 2026, we look forward to building lasting connections between Australia and Brazil, providing transformative educational experiences, and demonstrating why JPC is Queensland's premier destination for international students. We extend our sincere thanks to Trade and Investment Queensland and Austrade for their support in making this partnership possible, and to the São Paulo Government for entrusting us with these exceptional young scholars.
Bem-vindos to John Paul College. Welcome to your Australian journey. |
