Welcome to the Week 5 Edition of the JPIC Newsletter

As we reach the midpoint of Term 2, it's a perfect time to pause and reflect on the remarkable growth, achievements, and community spirit that define our JPIC journey. This edition celebrates success in all its forms—from academic excellence to acts of kindness and meaningful community engagement.

Inside, you’ll find highlights from our DARTS awards, recognising students who exemplify what success looks like at JPIC. We also share a heartwarming story from our Fenton Village boarders, who recently participated in a community initiative that brought joy to others.

As we look ahead to the end of term, we’ve included a few important reminders to help ensure a smooth and restful transition into the holiday break.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate the dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm that continue to shape our vibrant learning community.

Fostering strong learning habits is a key focus of our JPIC HSP program, alongside strengthening English proficiency across Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Mathematics, and Health & Physical Education. In the classroom, our dedicated JPIC teachers provide tailored support to ensure every student thrives.

Effort, persistence, curiosity, and a willingness to improve are all vital. Our passionate educators ensure students remain engaged, focused, and supported in a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Beyond the classroom, we collaborate closely with parents—both onshore and offshore—as well as our boarding staff at Fenton Village, homestay families, and the Extended Day Program (EDP) team. Together, we create a nurturing and dynamic environment where every JPIC HSP student is empowered to grow academically and personally.

We are incredibly proud of each student as they progress along their learning pathway. Step by step, we walk alongside them—offering guidance, encouragement, and support to help them reach their full potential.

It truly takes a village, and we are honoured to be part of this proactive and collaborative community that champions the success of every student.

Congratulations to all our JPIC students, and especially to our Term 2 DARTS recipients!

Boarding Students Giving Back to the Community

At JPIC, we believe learning extends beyond the classroom. It’s also about fostering compassion, kindness, and a sense of responsibility to the wider community. Recently, some of our international students from Fenton Village joined fellow boarders and Mr Tom Floyd (Head of Boarding) on a visit to Ronald McDonald House in South Brisbane—a truly rewarding experience for all involved.

Together, they prepared and served a meal for the residents, bringing warmth and comfort to families facing challenging times. This meaningful act of service highlighted the power of generosity and the importance of giving back.

Community service builds character, strengthens connections, and reminds us that even small gestures can make a big difference. Through experiences like this, our students learn the value of empathy and teamwork—growing not only as learners but as compassionate global citizens.

We are proud to see our students embracing these values and look forward to more opportunities to support and uplift those around us. It truly takes a village, and we’re grateful to be part of one that prioritises care, contribution, and service.

With five weeks remaining in Term 2, we encourage all students to continue striving for progress and aiming to meet or exceed expectations across all subject areas. It has been inspiring to witness their dedication and enthusiasm as they work toward their academic goals.

Students participating in the intervention program have been receiving valuable individual feedback and support from our JPIC teaching team, ensuring they are equipped with the tools and guidance needed to succeed.

We welcome ongoing collaboration with parents and encourage you to reach out to our teachers via email for updates on your child’s progress. Open communication allows us to work together in supporting each student’s learning journey.

Our pathway students have now received their subject selection form and information booklet outlining the subjects available at their entry level.

As the end of Term 2 approaches, we kindly remind all parents to submit travel information to the JPIC office if your child will be travelling during the upcoming three-week holiday break. Term dates are available on the JPIC calendar.
