A New Year, A New Start

| A warm welcome to the start of a new school year. It is an exciting time, with our new JPIC students commencing and we welcome back our continuing students. We trust everyone has had an enjoyable term-break over the holidays and enjoyed catching up with family and friends. I extend a warm welcome to our new and continuing families, into our John Paul International College (JPIC) community. We are very honored to be part of your child’s pathway to John Paul College. |
Teaching and Learning Program
The JPIC High school preparation program is focused on preparing our students to successfully achieve the learning outcomes and the overall language proficiency required across all subject areas.
All JPIC students will study:
Reading | Writing | Listening | Speaking | Maths |
Maintaining Satisfactory course progress
Our students are here to learn and our experienced team are here to support them with their progress.
- All students must demonstrate satisfactory academic progression.
The pedagogy of our teaching and learning programs are designed to commence with shared explicit achievable learning outcomes, which are written up and displayed on the board.
Our teachers will show and model the task, explaining and sign posting important steps and features. Our students will have a model of the expected standard. Our goal is for the learner to focus on the discrete achievable ‘can do’ learning steps which will enable them to achieve the following outcomes as they learn and increase their proficiency across the subject areas at JPIC.
Our goal is for our JPIC students to become independent autonomous learners who ‘know how to learn’.

Our JPIC Teachers

|
Our teachers are experienced and will differentiate as they cater to individual learning needs, as we acknowledge learning a second language can be challenging. Students will receive regular feedback and our continuous assessment will help our learners to understand the steps along the way. This is supported by the JPIC Assessment Framework with key assessment dates scheduled towards the end of the teaching and learning blocks, to ensure our students can spend more time learning, not testing. |
Lunar New Year
The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a vibrant and culturally significant celebration observed by many around the world. This festive occasion marks the beginning of the lunar calendar. This year we welcome the Year of the Dragon, a symbol associated with strength, courage and good luck.
The Year of the Dragon is considered one of the most auspicious zodiac signs. People born in the Year of the Dragon are believed bo be charismatic, courageous, and intelligent. It’s an excellent time for new beginnings, bold decisions, and pursing goals with determination.
We wish all our students, families and extended JPIC community a prosperous Lunar New Year.
