Term 2 2025
As Term 2 has now come to a close and we move into the winter break, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on the remarkable growth and accomplishments of our students over the past ten weeks. Every JPIC student has made meaningful progress towards becoming independent, autonomous learners through our quality-endorsed High School Preparation program.
All our JPIC students have embraced the learning opportunities and improved their proficiency in the essential macro skill areas of Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, as well as in the critical areas of time management, persistence, active involvement, reflection on learning, and striving for accuracy. A strong positive attitude to learning is fundamental for all learning.
Attending our intervention support classes with teachers during breaks has also been an important part of our focus as we try to support our students as much as possible. Our homestay students have also benefited from the EDP (Extended Day program) 1:1 support and guidance from the tutors.
Personalising academic programs to ignite excellence and empower students as global citizens is a key strategic focus of John Paul College. We are proud to work together with our students, our parents and other key stakeholders to support our students to achieve the standard across all key learning areas at JPIC.
Alongside the other strategic pillars, JPIC is proud to educate your children through our outstanding intensive High School Preparation program. Our dedicated JPIC teaching team is committed to ensuring every student can excel in all aspects of their learning. Our passionate and committed teachers work tirelessly to nurture and empower our students, guiding them towards their pathway entry to the main school.
A big thank you to parents who have supported our JPIC teachers and their child in our educational program as well as ensuring there is growth for each individual student through the academic welfare and pastoral care provided throughout the term.
Director's Lunch
In our final week of term, the JPIC Director International and Accommodation Operations, Mr Ferguson, joined our students in the Intermediate and Upper Intermediate classes for an end of term lunch. Mr Ferguson had the opportunity to remind them to maintain their academic progression and comply with attendance requirements. Engaging with their studies and making good progress is an important part of their academic studies both in John Paul International College, and in their secondary school program.
Our John Paul College House Captains

This term, we were delighted to welcome House Captains from the main school, accompanied by Mrs. Julie Maroske, Head of Sport and Activities. Our students had the opportunity to hear from the House Captains and practice the ‘War Cry’.
JPIC Year 10 pathway students

In week 8, our JPIC Year 10 graduate pathway students joined other JPC Year 10 students on an excursion to the Careers and Employment Expo, where they engaged with further education pathway opportunities. Mrs. Guerra (Dean of Studies - Secondary), Mrs. Baldwin (Head of Careers and Pathways), and Mrs. Lang (Teacher and Diverse Learning EALD Coordinator) also met with our students, guiding them in their subject selection for Year 10. The excellence guidance and support has enabled our students to make informed subject selection choices, as they enter their senior secondary school. The students completed a Careers Quiz, and were interviewed by Mrs Guerra, Mrs Baldwin and Mrs Lang. At JPIC, we are proud to support our JPIC HSP students as they transition into the Australian education system. Our teachers remind students to embrace our school values: Mutual Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence. We celebrate and congratulate all our pathway graduates who have successfully completed their High School Preparation program and will enter the main school at the start of Semester Two (Term 3).
John Paul College Secondary school athletics carnival
Our JPIC students and teachers joined the John Paul College Secondary School Athletics Day on Tuesday of week 9. Our JPIC HPE teacher Mr O’Keeffe has been working with our students in the HPE program in preparation for the different events at the athletics carnival. All JPIC students competed in age group events and enjoyed participating other secondary students at JPC. It was wonderful to see our students proudly wearing their House shirt and eager to participate at the wonderful Cec Munns Sports Centre. Even though it was under unusually cloudy skies, the temperatures were mild, and a dry day was predicted for the full program of events.
Upcoming Term 3
School resumes on Tuesday, 15 July 2025, which is the first day back for all our students.

Best wishes and safe travels to all students traveling abroad or interstate over the term break. The end-of-term break is an opportunity for everyone, including our staff, to pause, rest, and reset for the start of Term 3.
We look forward to welcoming our JPIC students back to their HSP course, welcoming new classmates and families into our JPIC community, and to our graduates starting in the main school, we congratulate you again for successfully completing your JPIC HSP Pathway program. We all look forward to seeing you when you visit us at the JPIC Crockett campus!
