John Paul International College was very excited to welcome our first Study Tour Group now that the Australian borders are open.

The girls and teachers from Hijiyama Girls’ High School first visited our campus in 1997 and have been visiting every year since, except for 2021.

In early 2020, they arrived during the start of the pandemic and cut their tour short by one week to get one of the last flights out of Australia before borders closed.

They were the last group to visit us in 2020 and are now the first Study Tour group to return to our campus and possibly one of the first school-aged study tours back to QLD post border closures. Our special relationship and their loyalty and determination are highly valued by our school.

What this highlights is that COVID has failed to break international partnerships and friendships. As we reconnect, we look forward to welcoming back many more international friends over the coming months.
