John Paul College celebrates the academic achievements of our Year 12 Class of 2025 — results that reflect the strength of our academic program, personalised pathways and the support surrounding every student.

The headline numbers

The Class of 2025 achieved a median ATAR of 91.00, the highest in the College’s history. More than half the cohort — 53% — scored an ATAR of 90.00 or above, placing them in the top 10% of the state. Almost a third scored above 95.00, and 12% scored above 99.00, placing them in the top 1% of Queensland.

Congratulations to Chanu Jung, who achieved an ATAR of 99.95 — the highest score it is possible to earn. You can see how this cohort compares with previous years on our academic results page.

Where our graduates are going

Graduates from the Class of 2025 received offers from Australia’s leading universities, including The University of Queensland, The University of Melbourne, Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. They have progressed into competitive fields including Medicine, Engineering, Law, Architecture, Commerce, Health Sciences and the Creative Arts, and several were awarded university scholarships recognising academic excellence and leadership.

Graduates from across our international cohort have shared what the journey actually looked like — the English, the first term, the subject choices and the offer at the end of it. You can read them on our alumni stories pages.

Where many of them started

What makes these results remarkable is the journey behind them. The majority of our 2025 international graduates began at John Paul International College in the High School Preparation Course — an intensive program that builds academic English, subject readiness and the confidence to succeed in the Australian curriculum.

Students who arrived with limited English have gone on to achieve ATARs above 99 and win places in highly competitive university programs, including Medicine, Engineering and Law. Two international graduates were accepted into the Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University, a recognised pathway toward a medical career.

The support behind the results

These outcomes rest on the work of our International Student Services team and the JPC CARE program. Students benefit from carefully matched homestay accommodation, ongoing pastoral care, personalised academic mentoring and university pathway guidance, and steady communication between the College, families and education partners.

Graduates also received offers across Health, Society and Culture, Engineering, and the Natural and Physical Sciences, and a number completed vocational qualifications alongside their senior studies — evidence of the range of pathways available at John Paul College.
