A simple five-step journey

Clear steps. Personal support. A smooth journey. Select any step to see exactly what happens and what you'll need.

Ready now? Open the Enrolment Portal

Available 24/7 on any device · apply yourself or through a registered agent

1 · Apply Online

The JPIC International Enrolment Portal provides secure, convenient access for education agencies and parents — available 24/7 and working on all devices.

Open the Enrolment Portal — start your application

Submit your application through the JPIC Enrolment Portal. You'll be asked to provide:

1 Applicant details

  • Certified copy of current passport or birth certificate
  • Certified copies of academic reports for the last two years, translated into English
  • Evidence of English language proficiency (if available)
  • Specialist reports or academic references (if available)
  • Photo of the student
  • Photo of the family

2 Primary caregiver & contact details

  • Parent's contact number
  • Parent's email address

3 Medical & insurance information

Any medical conditions, plus Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) details.

4 Learning & general information

Learning needs, interests and goals that help us support your child.

5 Accommodation details

e.g. homestay, boarding or living with a relative.

6 Application fee payment

Paid securely through the portal to submit the application.

Agents have the option to Share Application with a parent at this stage. Parents can then enter the above information themselves or check the details the agent has entered. Sharing the application also lets parents pay the application fee directly through the portal if they prefer not to give agents credit-card details.

At the end of this stage, agents can download the JPIC Enrolment Application: Terms & Conditions PDF for parents to sign. The entire completed application can also be downloaded.

2 · Assessment & Interview

Our Admissions Team reviews your application and arranges an assessment and interview to understand your child's academic background, English ability and learning goals. You'll be invited to an interview online or in person.

The interview has two parts:

Academic Interview

Approximately 20 minutes

We get to know the student, discuss their educational background, assess their English proficiency, and understand their learning goals and aspirations.

Accommodation Interview

Approximately 20 minutes · boarding & homestay only

Required for students applying for the College's Boarding or Homestay Program. It helps us determine readiness to live independently and ensures we provide the most appropriate care and support.

Please note: this is not a pass-or-fail test. The interview is designed to help us understand each student so we can provide the best possible academic and wellbeing support throughout their journey at John Paul College.

3 · Receive Your Offer

If your application is successful, you'll receive a Letter of Offer, your enrolment documents, and clear instructions to confirm your place at John Paul College.

Letter of Offer

Outlining the year level, program, start date and any conditions of enrolment.

Enrolment documents

Everything you need to accept your place and complete enrolment.

Confirm your place

Accept the offer, meet the conditions and pay fees to move to the visa stage.

4 · Visa & Arrival Support

Once the student has accepted their offer and met all enrolment conditions, John Paul International College issues the documents you need to support the Australian Student Visa application:

Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

The official document required for the student visa application.

CAAW (if applicable)

Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare, for students under 18 in College-arranged care.

Visa approval

Once the student visa is granted, the education agent — or the family, if applying directly — provides JPIC with a copy of the Visa Grant Notification. Receiving it allows us to:

  • Confirm the student's enrolment
  • Finalise accommodation and welfare arrangements (where applicable)
  • Begin pre-arrival planning and orientation
  • Ensure the student is ready for a smooth arrival in Australia

5 · Welcome & Orientation

Arriving is just the beginning. Before classes start, every new international student takes part in New Student Orientation — so your child walks into their first day already knowing the campus, their teachers and a few friendly faces.

New Student Orientation

A warm welcome, a campus tour, help with uniform and timetable, and an introduction to the buddies and staff who will support your child.

Your first day

A clear, step-by-step guide to the first morning — where to go, what to bring and who to look for — so day one feels calm and familiar.

Your family's Getting Started guide walks you through New Student Orientation and your very first day, step by step, so arriving in Australia feels calm and clear.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the application process take?

Once we receive a complete application and the required documents, the assessment and interview are usually arranged within one to two weeks, and a Letter of Offer follows soon after. Because student visa processing times vary by country, we recommend applying as early as possible before your intended start date.

Can my child enter John Paul College directly?

Yes — students who meet the academic and English language requirements for their year level can enter John Paul College directly. Every applicant completes an interview with the relevant Head of School before an offer is made. See our Entry Requirements page for the year-level guides.

What if my child's English level is not yet sufficient?

Students who aren't yet ready for direct entry can build their English and academic readiness first through our High School Preparation or Primary Preparation programs, then transition into John Paul College.

Do I need an education agent to apply?

No. Families can apply directly through the JPIC Enrolment Portal. Registered education agents can also apply on a family's behalf and use Share Application so parents can review the details and pay the application fee themselves if they prefer.

Can JPIC arrange accommodation?

Yes. We offer carefully selected homestay families and boarding. Students applying for boarding or homestay complete a short accommodation interview so we can provide the most appropriate care and support.

When should I apply?

Apply as early as you can. Enrolment is accepted throughout the year, but places and preferred start dates fill quickly — and allowing time for the interview, offer, Confirmation of Enrolment and visa makes for a smooth arrival. Check our Term Dates page for intake timing.
