The John Paul College academic year runs from late January to early December, divided into four terms of approximately ten weeks each. Here are the key dates for this year and the two years ahead — term start and end dates, boarding and homestay windows, and public holidays — so families and agents can plan flights, accommodation and visas well in advance.
We recommend students arrive at least one week before term commences to settle into their accommodation, meet their homestay family or boarding house, and prepare for a confident start.
A few things to keep in mind as you map out flights, accommodation and the visa timeline for the year ahead.
Plan to land at least one week before term commences so students can settle in, overcome jet lag and start the term with confidence.
Boarding and homestay open and close on set dates each term. Check the windows above before booking travel either side of the holidays.
Queensland public holidays and student-free days fall within some terms. These are marked in gold so you can plan family visits around them.
Student visa processing can take several weeks. Working back from the term start date, begin your application early to avoid a delayed arrival.
Our international admissions team can help you plan the right start date, confirm accommodation windows and guide you through the application timeline.
