Two Clear Pathways to John Paul College.
Direct Entry for students who meet our academic and English benchmarks • A Preparation Pathway for students who need time to get there
Each international application is assessed against three key components. The relevant Head of School reviews all three together — no single factor decides the outcome on its own.
Evidenced through IELTS, Cambridge English for Schools, AEAS or CEFR self-assessment, matched against the year level being applied for.
A record of results from the student’s previous school, showing a pass in core subjects over the last two years of education.
A conversation with the relevant Head of School to understand the student’s readiness, goals and fit with the JPC learning environment.
For full details on how applications are evaluated, please refer to our Admission Policy.
Students who do not meet the direct entry requirements for John Paul College can study English first with John Paul International College. All international students complete an interview with the relevant Head of School before an offer is made.
Completing this short course gives students valuable insight into what to expect from the Head of School interview process.
A student’s listening and speaking skills are checked through this test series as part of the High School Preparation assessment.
The relevant Head of School may use discretion to accept an international student even where the academic or English language guides below are not fully met.
