Why it exists

Why We Created the
Extended Day Program

We understand that learning doesn't stop when the school day ends. Many international students need extra support, connection and guidance in the afternoons to reach their full potential.

So we built the afternoon they were missing — on campus, with the same staff who teach them.

Good questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Extended Day Program compulsory?

The Extended Day Program is included as part of Premium Homestay, so every student on that program attends automatically. Day students on other arrangements can also opt in to access the same academic and wellbeing support.

How often do students attend?

The program runs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, starting from the second week of each term, from 3:30pm until 6:00pm. Students are then transported home by 6:30pm.

Who supervises students?

All sessions are supervised by qualified JPIC staff, including our Extended Day Program Coordinator, academic mentors and wellbeing staff, at a supervision ratio that keeps every student closely supported.

How are parents kept updated?

Homestay families and parents receive regular updates on attendance, wellbeing and academic progress from our International team, with additional check-ins available on request.

What happens during community dinners?

Students share a nutritious, staff-prepared meal together on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in a relaxed, inclusive setting – a highlight of the program where lasting friendships are built across cultures.

Can students still join sports and other activities?

Yes. The Extended Day Program is designed to work around co-curricular commitments, and staff help students balance sport, music and other activities alongside their afternoon support.
