Two safe homes to choose from

Two homes. One promise.

Every international student lives in one of two carefully supervised homes. Both are built on the same promise — and both are backed by the whole College standing behind your child.

  • Safety first

24/7 care for every student under 18, in both boarding and homestay. You deal directly with the College — never a distant agency.

  • Real support

Learning doesn’t stop at 3:15pm. Every afternoon and evening is designed to help your child keep improving.

  • Genuine belonging

Whether in a villa or a host family, your child is welcomed, included and cared for — a second family, far from home.

Fenton Village is our boarding community, right on the College campus. A caring local family, and a whole College behind them

With Homestay, your child lives with a caring, approved local family in their own room — enjoying home-cooked meals, family routines and a warm welcome into everyday Australian life. What makes our homestay different is that on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, students join the Extended Day Program on campus, so families are never left to manage homework and long afternoons alone.

  • A real family home, with breakfast together and quality time each evening.
  • The Extended Day Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays: homework support, wellbeing workshops and a community dinner.
  • Door-to-door bus transport home after the program.

Safety and 24/7 care

For younger students, safety comes first — always. John Paul College takes full responsibility for the care of international students under 18, in both boarding and homestay.

  • Round-the-clock support

A dedicated team and a 24/7 pastoral care and emergency line mean help is always close.

  • Trained, approved carers

Boarding staff and homestay families are carefully selected, trained and supported — you are never trusting a stranger.

  • Homes we check

Homestay homes are inspected regularly to make sure they stay safe and suitable.

  • On-site health care

Boarders have medical staff on campus, and every student’s wellbeing is monitored day to day.

  • One point of contact

You deal directly with the College, not a distant third-party agency.

Learning doesn’t stop at 3:15pm

Academic support that continues after class

Both of our homes are designed to help your child keep improving every afternoon and evening. Different settings — the same goal.

In Boarding

The Academic Enrichment Program

  • The Head of Boarding tracks each boarder’s effort and achievement, day to day.
  • Structured nightly prep — Years 7–9 study together in a classroom; Years 10–12 in their rooms or common areas.
  • Academic tutors give extra help in Maths, Science, English, Humanities, PE and Technology & Design.
In Homestay

The Extended Day Program

  • Students are collected from school and supported through supervised homework and study.
  • Small-group workshops build skills, English confidence and understanding.
  • A community dinner and wellbeing time before door-to-door transport home.

The result is the same in both homes: more support, stronger English, and better results.

A happy child learns better

Wellbeing and a real

Beyond safety and study, we care most about how your child feels — every single day.

  • A second family

Whether in a villa or a host family, your child is welcomed, included and cared for.

  • Friends from around the world

Students build friendships across cultures — from Australia to China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Brazil.

  • Confidence and independence

Life skills, leadership and daily encouragement help your child grow, not just study.

  • A culture of care

Everything is guided by kindness, respect and genuine support for each student.
