The Junior Secondary Years are important development stages when students can try new subjects and explore their interests. As students progress through the Junior Secondary Years, they are guided and able to choose from an increasingly broad range of subjects and specialisms. In Years 7 and 8, students are involved in studying courses that create an individualised Junior Education and Training Plan (JETPlan). These courses are based on the Australian Curriculum. In Years 9 and 10, students develop their knowledge and skills within the Australian Curriculum further, specialising in subjects that provide them opportunity and challenge. Year 10 prepares students for the Senior Secondary Years, with subjects chosen beginning to shape students’ pathways towards career opportunities and tertiary education. Underpinning our diverse curriculum, John Paul College embeds a Positive Psychology framework that provides students with real-life avenues and opportunities to demonstrate the College Values: Mutual Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
