High School Preparation Course Overview
John Paul International College offers a
High School Preparation Course (HSP) (CRICOS: 0100089) for students entering Year 7 to Year 10 at John Paul College or the Australian High School system. Students may begin at the start of any term (four terms per year) starting in January, April, July and October depending on Year entry.
Classes are held for five hours per day from Monday to Friday. Students are taught totally in English – not only language skills but also Mathematics, Science and Business through English. Our graduates are fully prepared to enter mainstream academic classes with Australian students from Year 7 to Year 12 (equivalent A levels). Academic audits, regular online reporting and communication with parents enables teachers to work in partnership with the home. In this way, we can keep parents informed of their child’s academic progress.
A full-time network of support personnel, including Heads of Year, a Chaplain, Counsellors, English as a Second Language and Learning Enhancement teachers, is available. A comprehensive tutorial program is designed to extend and support students in their pursuit of academic excellence. With one of Australia’s most extensive school sports and cultural programs, our students revel in the health and social benefits that participation in school activities provides; while in the middle years our Pathways program identifies students with emerging talent and partners them with some of Australia’s best coaches and mentors to guide their development.
