Since John Paul College's foundation, it has grown to become one of Queensland's largest schools. The circa 2000 student population spans Primary Preparation through to Year Twelve​; John Paul College Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten; and John Paul International College.

Established in 1982, John Paul College is one of Australia's leading independent K-12 co-educational schools and Queensland's first ecumenical school.

The College campus covers 35 hectares of magnificent landscaped grounds and is located on Brisbane's southern outskirts, 40 minutes south of Brisbane International Airport, half way between the CBD and the Gold Coast. State-of-the-art facilities include a purpose-built international education building, multi-million dollar Senior Student Centre, campus-wide wireless Internet, wireless-connected classrooms, extensive sporting facilities, a modern Aquatic Centre, music centre/300 seat auditorium, science laboratories and cyber Library and cafeteria.

Performing Arts

John Paul College's School of Performing Arts has a far-reaching reputation for the outstanding professionalism of its productions and performances.

Our comprehensive performance programme is dedicated to excellence. Through orchestras, ensembles, rock bands, choirs, cheerleading, dance companies, drama productions and visual arts we nurture talent, practise to perfection and create unforgettable experiences for every student.

The College enjoys a reputation for performance excellence earned over 30 years of producing high-quality, musical productions including "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat", "Grease", "Back in Time" and a number of Musicfest Concerts. In addition, students are offered an extensive ensemble programme, and group and private instrumental, vocal, dance and drama lessons for individuals.

Sporting

The College has an OLYMPIC record of Australian sporting representatives. Many students have made selection to National and State teams. Added to these individual achievements are the many Premiership titles achieved each year by College teams in The Associated Schools Competition (TAS). Our basketball and netball players have a particularly impressive record of achievement.

Technology Program

John Paul College has a long history of innovation in teaching and learning. The Notebook Computer Programme was launched to students and staff in January 1993. The arrival of this technology was prefaced by the installation of kilometres of optic fibre cabling and network connection points. Additional infrastructure and services - storage, technical support, additional printing facilities and specialised software were added to support and service the notebooks.

Twenty five years on, the transformation continues. Today, John Paul College is a wireless campus. Each student from Years 4 -12 is supplied with a notebook computer and the College offers technical hardware and software support via Techsphere, ateam of IT professionals is integral to teaching and learning at the College and our teaching staff are leaders in this field. Communication with parents, staff and students is via JPConnect, our cutting-edge communication portal.
