Homestay Update Term 2 - 2013

During School Holiday Periods

Please be reminded that if your homestay student intends to visit a friend of family member outside of Brisbane over the holidays, their Head of School, Mr Michael Bos for JPIC or Mr Allan Dennis for JPC must receive an email from the students’ parents giving permission for their child to stay with a nominated person. The email will also need to include travel dates, flight details, the name, address and contact number of the person they will be staying with. The trip will need to be approved by the College.

Please ensure your student understands this process. If you are in any doubt please contact Mrs Patricia White at Senior School on 3826 3414 or email patwhite@jpc.qld.edu.au, or Mrs Leila Reid at JPIC on 3826 3474 or email lreid@jpc.qld.edu.au

If your student intends to stay with a friend or family member in Brisbane please ensure you have information including who they are staying with, a contact number, where they are staying and a verbal agreement from the person with whom they are staying. You need to know that it is a suitable place for your student to stay. If you have any questions, please call JPIC Student Services on 3826 3478.

Study Tours & Study Abroad

Although Term 2 is quiet as far as study tours go, we have already received a number of bookings for Term 3, which are the longer summer holidays in Asia. To keep up with the demand of study tours we always welcome new homestay families to join the program. If you know of a family who would be interested in the JPC Homestay Program, please ask them to contact JPIC Student Services on 3826 3478 (8.00am – 4.30pm) or email at lhoa@jpc.qld.edu.au

At present, John Paul International College is proud to welcome back the students and teachers from Shenzhen Nanshan Bilingual School to the Study Abroad program after last year’s successful program. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our returning and new homestay families who are taking wonderful care of the students. Although it is only their first week, the students really enjoy being part of your family.
